Dump Magazine’s third issue and exhibition, Correspondence, is a group show that highlights artist’s understanding of communication, exchange, gesture, and language. We sought to explore how our included artists contend with connection, relationships, distance, and proximity- to ourselves, to each other, to everyone between us and the larger world. Correspondence can exist in the unknown, the most intimately known, and the acquaintance; inextricably connected in the most obvious or discreet of ways. The art in this show and magazine is not a complete visual or written definition of correspondence: It is, rather, the traces of a select few experiences that resemble a loose narrative.
